We Will Remember Them.
The Church doesn’t have any memorials on display, however, we do have several that have been entrusted to us from other Methodist Churches, particularly those Churches that amalgamated in the 1960s to form the current Moston Methodist Church. As these memorials are all now in storage we have included details of them here.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commision (CWGC) has, on its own web site, a “Debt of Honour Register” on which it lists details of the casualties of war. We have tried to link up the names on the memorials with that list so that you can click on a name and be taken to the appropriate record at the CWGC. We have endeavoured to make the correct match based on likely probabilities and the limited information that we have but, should you find that there is an error or omission, please let us know. If you are using this as a source to trace your family history you should treat this information as a guide only and you should verify all the links, to the CWGC, to other independant sources.

The above memorial came from Streetfold Methodist Church where there were 11 “dummy” organ pipes to commemorate the names of those who had died. The organ was dismantled during the 1980’s.

Note: Marjorie Gibbons Sankey was born in 1896 and baptised at Streetfold Methodist Church on 26th July 1896.
She was the daughter of Fanny Young Sankey and Joseph Gibbons Sankey. Joseph Gibbons Sankey died 1st August 1898. He was also the architect of the Simpson Memorial Hall.
